I had everyone pretty much cast except Conner. I went through so many ponies. Starlight, Trixie, even Zepher! XD But they either didn't have scenes with Fluttershy or happy enough expressions. And I wasn't going to push Rainbow out of finally getting the female role.

Then I thought about it, and I realized that throughout the play, Conner isn't actually himself. He's Evan's perception of him, so his personality wouldn't and shouldn't match up with his living self. That's when Luna hit me. She and Fluttershy are the main two ponies who have felt insignificant.
