In response to Darkmournetheflayer's request, I took a look at a short blog post written by GorshmidtII on Deviant Art.
In case Darkmourne's question was not full answered, allow me to elaborate here in a more focused manner.  I don't think Gorshmidt's idea is good.  The show doesn't really stagnate as it does tend to venture out into plenty of territories on just the right occasion.  Furthermore, "Friendship is Magic" has always been geared closer to slice of life, which tends to focus on smaller and more down-to-earth conflicts rather than having too many epic battles for any person to realistically survive.  So not only is this not the case, but it's not needed in the first place.  I honestly believe the show finds a nice balance.
It's just a shame I couldn't say that while I was too busy picking apart everything else that was stated in the blog post.

I had to dust off the old Brony Debates timeline and presets for this one.  It was almost nostalgic.  It felt good to use my Brony Debates intro again after I had worked so hard to make it somewhat good, only to not use it while I got caught up on episode reviews.
