Music has always made it possible for us to travel across the globe without leaving home, and today we are arriving at nowhere other than my good old hometown - Hong Kong. Renowned for its hybrid between Chinese traditions and Western modern cultures, this metropolis is filled with a plethora of food and tourist spots, but also nostalgia and memories that we remember. And how can Twilight Sparkle, curious about literally everything about the world, not pay a visit to such a city? So here we are, Twilight's miraculous excursion to the Canter-nese metropolis. Inspired by Chinese traditional folk music, A Canter-nese Excursion incorporates Chinese instruments into a lively string orchestra and pictures the bustling, boisterous environment of Hong Kong. Everypony is chatting, enjoying the fun, and Twilight is slowly immersed in this ambiance too. There are also references to two well-known Chinese classic songs "Shanghai Bund" (上海灘) and "The Moon Represents My Heart" (月亮代表我的心). Despite having a crazy creative block while producing this track, I still felt a flurry of sentiments and an emotionally attached sense of commitment towards my hometown as this place means so much to me. Being born and living in Hong Kong for almost 18 years, every neon billboard I saw, every public transit I rode, every street I walked through, every restaurant I went to, and even every cup of iced lemon tea I ordered, they were all pieces that synthesized my childhood as a Hong Kong brony musician. I am very grateful for all these opportunities I have had and I hope you feel the same too. For now, please sit back and enjoy this lively masterpiece!
