I love cake pops. I love them so much that I decided to make a quick, cute song about how I make them... and how they like to get eaten by others...

After I made all the cake pops and set up the table, placed my HaniArt, Patrick rigged the pop zip line, AND after we ate a lot of cake, it was time to record the 1.5 minute song in one straight take!

A few things went mildly wrong, but it was so much fun!! And yes, those sprinkles at the end went EVERYWHERE.

... everywhere.

Thanks to Patrick Alfonzo for being such a good sport with agreeing to sing the male vocals on this track and for working the camera while I bounced around his kitchen making a huge mess.


Lyrics:
You buy a pre-made cake from your local store
Unwrap and cut and crumble into a glass bowl
Then when you finish crumbling add some frosting too
Because the frosting acts like glue!

You take about a teaspoon and you roll a ball
And put it in the freezer so they harden for
Insertion of the stick using chocolate
Which you pre-melt with some shortening; that helps quite a bit!

Dip the stick, push it in, set to dry, freeze again (x4)

Then give it seven minutes to really set
Now you're ready for the final chocy-coating step
Dip it down to the seal, rock it to and fro
Gently lift, tap your wrist while you turn it slow

Now -- this next part is really up to you
Coat in sprinkles, dribble chocolate, make a pop fondue!
Add some candy, add some brandy, change the shape at the start
Be creative and inventive -- it's your work of art!

Dip the stick, push it in, set to dry, freeze again...
