Just a little something that randomly came to my mind. Also trying out a new shading. ~ More text below ~ Don't worry. This channel isn't dead, and I'll make more videos soon. Now that school is over, I have a bit more free time. I'm currently working on a longer video (around 15-20 mins), too. I plan to finish it before I go to this year's BronyCon. ( Music and models are already done, the only things that are left to make right now are the last few parts of the script, and the voices. ) PS: Well, also sorry for all the short videos. I will try to make longer videos. It just takes ages to make something longer. ^^; --- I got the Wind Waker-styled particles from here: http://sfmbox.com/the-legend-of-zelda-the-wind-waker-gohma-model/ The explosion-effect is made by me ~ Oh, and I guess I'll use this cel-shading in a few more videos. Looks kinda nice. :3 --- Let's get technical now: For all the people asking how I got the models to look like that - I used a simple two-colored lightwarp-texture that I applied to all the models for that. https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/$lightwarptexture As a base, I took the "Posterized"-image from this site, made the two sites in a light and dark gray, converted it to a VTF (via VTFEdit), and used it in the VMT's with the line "$lightwarptexture" "PATH TO THE TEXTURE" That creates a nice cel-shaded look on the ponies (or any other model you apply this to) now. One downside - the "lightsource" is the sunlight on the map, not any of the other lights. Means that if you add a spotlight in SFM, the main lightsource is still the sun, and the spotlight only makes the model brighter, and doesn't create that cel-shaded look. So you have to have control of the map to make it look right. Also, I made this on a custom map I made. (Just a simple skybox-with-flat-ground type-of map.) I'll play around with it for the next time to make it more like in the original games. Because I REALLY like how that shading looks. I won't say it's much better than the one I normally use, but it's nice. :3
