there’s a bit of a story to this one:

i’ve always thought the opening chords of Sadie’s Gymnopédie No 1 to be magical. it reminds of long rainy afternoons.

one day i was playing around in logic with those first few chords. i’d come up with interesting but i couldn’t seem to work out a nice vocal melody. by happy accident i stumbled across the vox stem from Hold On, a song that I did with UndreamedPanic, and found it to match! and so this thing was born: a happy marriage between some fluffy chords and the most unlikely of vocal stems. technically that makes this a 'reimagining' of hold on. i think.

as i continued i couldn’t help but think of tempest. i’d been meaning to write a tempest song for ages — in fact, the project name, before i had any inkling of what this song would eventually become, was actually called ‘tempest song’. her character really intrigues me, especially after reading the background comics. so the song is, i suppose, a call of encouragement, from the mane 6 to tempest. something like that.
