If you read the whole thing you are a saint, but if you're pressed for time there's a TL;DR at the bottom! * If you couldn't tell from the name, this is not really a serious song but it's something I felt like sharing. For those of you that don't know, Blind is the name I went by when I started producing music. Flutterhigh was the fourth song I ever made - released in April 2012. I remixed myself! I'll put a link to the original song further down in the description in case you want to compare the two. Some backstory: In April of last year - the week of the Season 2 finale of MLP:FiM - I decided to try my hand at something called Toastbeard. Toastbeard is weekual- uh, weekly pony music compo. Every week we get a theme (during pony seasons we have the option of making an Episode Response as well) and we make our musical interpretation of the theme. On Saturdays (usually) we gather round in IRC and have a sync listen to all the entries, and then we vote for our favorites. It's all very casual - we get and give some good feedback, dick around a bit, laugh at the troll songs, it's a fun time! Anyway, the theme that particular week was "Ponies on Drugs". Fluttershy always struck me as being one with nature, so I threw together a little song about Fluttershy getting baked and having some fun with her buddies. Now like I said, this was my fourth song ever. I had been producing for maybe three or four months at the time. I knew only basic music theory from playing trombone for much of my life, and next to nothing about mixing and mastering. Regardless, I was proud of my punny little jingle and continued to participate in Toastbeard for the next few months. A few weeks ago another Toastbeard compo was planned. This one was what's called a WAT compo, meaning it can start and end at any time and isn't based on the weekual schedule. It was a challenge to remix our very first Toastbeard entries. So I did! The remix took me about a week and while it's certainly not my best work (time constraints and all that), I'm proud of how far I've come in the past year. If I ever grow out of this whole pony thing (which I don't see happening anytime soon, heh) I'll at least be able to look back on it as what introduced me to music production - which at this point I really can't imagine life without. ****TL;DR I remixed one of my very first songs from over a year ago because cooked bread with facial hair told me to.****
