In the wake of the canterlot rave scene's peak as a cultural phenomenon in the early-to-mid 90s, the gryphons couldn't help but take notice. And gryphons, being gryphons had to take things one step further, outdo their pastel coloured rivals and create something that would scare the shit out of the namby pamby colourful cloppers. Thus, gryphonic gabber was born, a genre existing purely to push the tempo as far beyond 200bpm as anypony could take and playing it on the biggest sound system one could borrow, beg or steal. Often using the same samples as lunar rave tracks and remixing the latest pony rave hits mere weeks after their release, there was certainly an element of sticking it to the ponies with this stuff. Which makes it deliciously ironic that after the initial wave of blistering distorted tracks from the gryphon camp, most of it was produced by ponies who would disguise themselves with grphonic alises and sublabels of existing pony rave labels, Gryphonix being ours. These tracks were often more humerous in nature, juxtapositioning silly samples and the hard, fast nature of the music for humerous effect. As the canterlot rave scene was cooling down, A fairly large splinter culture of ponies developed who'd rave exclusively to this stuff, and would throw out any records not of gryphonic origin, after all, that was pussy music! It became a situation where no one knew who was trolling who, but the net result was some of the hardest, fastest dance music to ever come out of Equestria, and a brilliant example of some good coming out of the more-hardcore-than-thou mentality. This track comes from the fearless Dave!, a producer all the way from Coltchester in the Uneighted Kingdom, and was our first release under Gryphonix, sampling an instructional video from 80s media personality Pinkie Pie.
