After receiving the chance to finally see her friends again, Twilight is told by her over protective brother, Shining Armor, that she can't leave. Mainly because he thinks the world is cruel. Twilight tries to convince him to let her go and that the world is not how he thinks it is.

Though this song was third in this episode, it was actually the first song written in the entire musical.
