I almost didn't upload this in time, but as soon as I got home from a football game I whipped out my microphone and sang my freaking heart out. And you may or may not have noticed that I was crying a bit while recording. Anyway, 9/11...a time alot of us wish never happened. A day where thousands of Americans were killed in a way we never imagined. But even after all that, we still remain strong. Even though the towers fell, our country didn't and neither did the people who died in the towers. They're probably watching over America, and praying that nothing like that should ever happen to any of us again. For those of you who know where this is from (In the Heights), you know that this song is sung at Abuela Claudia's funeral. Though it even says her name in the song, I feel like this song fits this event perfectly. And who knows, thousands of people died that day...one of them had to have been named Claudia...Alabanza means to praise to God which we do when we praise the souls of the brave who went in the help the helpless. Those who stayed strong in the event of death, and after all of that...we're still strong... Thanks to Wes Shire for singing Kevin's part and the Male Ensemble on such short notice! Luv u!
