This is the spectacular hike to the alpine tundra landscape at High Camp, via the Divide Camp Trailhead on the heavily glaciated north side of Mount Adams. Here are some photographs I took, found at my photo gallery: EDIT: Posted on Washington Wild Blogsite! http://www.wawild.blogspot.com/2013/10/scenery-at-mt-adams-wilderness.html Mount Adams: The Forgotten Giant of the Northwest -The magnificent scenery at Mount Adams, one of the "great ice-covered sentinels in the Cascade Range," rivals that of Mount Rainier, its famous neighbor to the north in size, height, and spectacular scenery. "At 12,276 feet, the volcano towers over the surrounding landscape, two miles above the valleys of southern Washington. Its massive glaciated bulk is visible from Portland and Yakima, and from the sagelands of eastern Oregon, 155 miles away. Among the Cascade volcanoes, it is exceeded in volume only by Mount Shasta in northern California, and ranks with the great stratovolcanoes of the world". (Lloyd, Mount Adams Brochure Text) Music score is composed and belongs to Aaron Miller! -(Paraphrased from "Washington's Mount Adams Area Map" text, ©2001 by Darryl Lloyd) Darryl Lloyd's website: http://www.LongshadowPhoto.com. It's a spectacular and eye-revealing map, featuring roads and trails, geological landscape, mountain information, and color photos. I purchased mine, in support of Mount Adams, at the Mount Adams Chamber of Commerce, White Salmon, WA. Thank you! /)
