зачем was an idea I had about the kind of relationships you have online. In specific, I think back to a lot of the dumb, silly shit that we all do over Discord. It's about as simple as that. The things we love and the widespread reach of the internet allow us to make friends with the most unlikely people that we probably would've never met otherwise. The concept of this is something I devised with Chiba who natively speaks Russian. "зачем" means "what for" in English, but was essentially a reference to some Russian shitposting that Chiba was probably messaging to me at 1am. Really, it's a song about friendship and being dumbasses together.
