This is the piece I composed for the album Ponies at dawn: Enigma. Unlike the previous album I started this piece with the album and its theme in mind. The mysterious feeling of the music is given by its tonal ambiguity: everything appears to be in E minor but as soon as an F natural is introduced in the singing melody or bass everything seems to change, and the ambiguity is heard even more when fourth-based chords appear every now and then. I also spent a lot of time making the ambient sounds around the music, there is a constant white noise produced by different instruments and sound effects, and this is also the first time I've used live instruments in my orchestral songs, all the white noise and water-y effects are recorded from a real string quartet. I guess it's something different from my usual style, I hope you enjoy it!
