This was a test for a new method that involves absolutely no masking OR keying. It's a little rough, but that's because it's my very first attempt. I can't wait to make use of this technique on future clips, because it pretty much means that it no longer matters how many colors are in a scene. What would normally take dozens of keyed layers can now be done in about three or four.

Basically the new technique works by finding a scene in which the main subject is out of frame at some point, then using a difference key effect to isolate anything but the background. It's actually incredibly simple and I wish I had thought of it before.
