Pretty much, Clay lives on an island which is what can be described as "The Japan of Equestria" and there she's the daughter of the man in charge, so holy hekker hecks, she a mofukin princess. The island is completely cut off from the rest of the world, as they find their land sacred. Clay's mother had accidently stumbled apon the island and fell in love with her dad. As years went on Clay's mom wished to see her family, and have them visit the island, but Clay's father hated that idea. As Clay's fathers side of the family is kitsune, the demon part of him came out and killed her through pure anger. When Clay got older she got really curious about the mainland, since her mother would tell her stories about it. One day she tried to do the same as her mom, and get her dad to open the island to the world, he came angry seeing her mother in her, and attacked her the same way. Clay had gotten away but was badly injured, as the picture shows. A nice young fisher man finds her and cleans her up. She told him about what happened, and the nice old man granted her the wish of taking her to the main land. Since then clay has never gone back to her island, and her islands residents presume her to be dead.
