Sheet music: http://www.mediafire.com/?k6b1p8bewacb8js Sung at the end of Season 2, Episode 26 ("A Canterlot Wedding - Part 2"), Love is in Bloom is an upbeat, pop-style song that symbolises the power of love and the coming together of Princess Celestia's niece, Princess Cadance, and Twilight Sparkle's older brother, Shining Armour. Wow... it has been AGES since I uploaded anything. Been soooo busy with my teaching prac, and then I've been on the organising committee for a national student conference (which starts tomorrow - only one week left!), together with various life commitments... Well, no matter - here is a piece, if only a token one at best! Someone requested this in the comments of one of my other videos a couple of weeks ago, and at first I replied with a typical "I'll think about it" flavoured response, but recently, out of curiosity I sat down at the piano and plunked around a little... aaand this emerged a few days later =P In short, "Love is in Bloom" actually turned out a lot easier than I expected it to. In terms of the difficulty, this is probably the easiest My Little Pony song I've covered thus far - the "trickiest" bit for me was bars 3 and 4 of the intro, and needless to say, if that's the "hardest" part of the piece then it makes it pretty obvious the whole song isn't very difficult at all, haha. At this point I would like to draw attention to a particular artist, Makarian (seen in the Special Thanks of the credits) - his rendition of "Love is in Bloom" (found here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40RPNVTGcTU ) provided a lot of the inspiration for my cover. I heard it a few times on EverFree Radio while I was on my teaching practical, and needless to say, it stuck. I didn't want to copy him explicitly, but needless to say, my bass line borrows heavily from his, as does the end of the chorus. For this reason I also did not want to do my own extended or improvised version of the piece - Makarian did it first, and I respect that. As such, special thanks goes to Makarian for providing a brilliant interpretation of "Love is in Bloom from" which I could draw inspiration =) I think that about does it for this piece. Thank you all for your patience with me, and needless to say I have other projects in the works as well. Aside from my Classical exam (which has been postponed to next year), which will provide me with a few pieces to showcase soon (hopefully), I have other covers that I'm looking into, one of which will hopefully come to fruition within the next month or two. I'll be going on a holiday to France (or Fancee, as some viewers may know it as, haha) at the end of August - mid September, but I will aim to have at least two pieces uploaded by then. Anyway, I've rambled long enough. Enjoy!
