This cover has been on my to-do list for a long time. 
But I feel like now was the best time to post it because of what it means to me.

I first heard this song a few years back about a year after Hamilton came out. I was in a very depressed and lonely state of mind because I just recently had my heart broken by a person I had my first kiss with. They left me suddenly almost immediately after we got together, without remorse, and told me it was because they wanted to focus on their "life and career." Needless to say, I had lost a first love, and it hurt. A lot. And for a long time. But this song, with its powerful message and beautiful vocals, helped me to get through it. So now, 5 years later, I'm in a place where I can cover this song in a month about love, in all it's aspects. 
This song reminds me of that time, it was a time of loss, a time of loneliness, and a time of anger at myself. But it also helps me to see how far I've come and the much better place I am in now. To anyone who has had their heart broken in the past, this is for you. Stay strong. Because it DOES get better again. (heart)
