Before, when I would make tracks, I would fiddle until I found an idea that sounded good. This method on produced tracks which I would refer to as, well, cute. And if I ever really wanted an idea to turn out great, I would pour so much effort into it and just end up banging my head against my own incompetence. I would loathe the piece, it's problems and shortcomings screaming at me. Now that I take a more constructive approach, standing back and considering how to proceed, my tracks and I become like old friends. We become so comfortable with each other, and I never become frustrated if it doesn't work out the first time. I stand back and think, "maybe I could do it this way". Download available shortly.
