Chase the Rainbow" from Various Artists - Flowers Are Go! Vol. 3 (1999) Shibuya-kei, Indie Pop, Alternative Rock Garage Rock, Indie Rock Elevator Action [JPN] - The Under Flower Label, along with its Pushbike imprint, was an important indie label in Japan, and its Flowers Are Go! compilation series is excellent. Not all of its music fit the neo-acoustic genre—it was also home to Shoegaze-influenced Indie Rockers like Shortcut Miffy! and Mica Flakes—but its roster included artists like Bice, Short Hair Front, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Tirolean Tape that carried forth the sound through the late 1990s and early 2000s. These compilations are able to blend the neo-acoustic groups with the heavier ones (along with some closer to Garage Rock) in order to give a broad overview of the state of Japanese indie pop and rock at the time. https://rateyourmusic.com/list/fourths/rym-ultimate-box-set-neo-acoustic-guitar-pop/ (Neo-Acoustic / Guitar Pop) I don't own this music but i recommend it.
