More grimdark warnings, though considering Twilight is still one of the heroes, it's not as dark as...oh...say...Smooze Fluttershy. Anyway, the Chaos is Magic storyline left Twilight Sparkle in trouble from both antagonists and her own decisions. Choosing to follow Celestia at first, she was put under the control of the alicorn, layer revealed to be an imposter named Dragon Slayer (those of you who know Black Rock Shooter, yes, we did indeed cross the two, but we ponified any crossovers). Following her defeat, Twilight focused her efforts on aiding Shining Armor against the changelings after Queen Chrysalis declared revenge for being blasted out of Canterlot.

Twilight attempted to harness energies she knew could help, but that came with a high price; her eyes were taken from her, rendering her blind. However she could still see to an extent using magic. Thorough her sacrifice, she'd become one of the most powerful figures in Equestria, but retained loyalty to her family and became a powerful adversary against Discord, though the Draconequus still held dominion over her, being the elder god that he was.

One thing is for certain, she is a powerful ally in the fight to take back Equestria from the grip of darkness.

...if I got the battle theme wrong, please know that I am not a fan of Final Fantasy IX and...yeah...
