Check out Vinyl's awesome work here: http://www.youtube.com/user/VinylScratchDjPony This amazing song is: My Little Pony - Find A Way (Vinyl Scratch aka DJ Pon-3's Remix) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=az2nl_uZXbQ The graphic of Vinyl on the front is a modified version of xPesifeindx's awesome original work found here: http://xpesifeindx.deviantart.com/ you should check it out! This is a PIC micro-controller based portable hand-held audio spectrum analyzer. The front panel graphic as well as the circuit-board itself were etched using the toner-transfer method on copper-clad. It's more of a toy than tool, but hey this trinket was fun to build. It displays the intensity level of 7 separate frequency bands (hardware limited). The 8th is the average of two nearby sampled frequencies. It samples audio data from an internally pre-amped source (knobs and switches on the side control how much and what source), breaks apart the bands through a multiplexed bandpass IC, interprets the data inside the micro-controller, and drives the display through a MAX display driver. Any questions/comments? thanks for watching! /) EDIT----3/18/2013 Made it to EQD!!! sweet!!! http://www.equestriadaily.com/2013/03/artisan-craft-compilation-14.html Album of photo's throughout it's creation: http://s331.photobucket.com/user/WK3sGenSoldier/library/Vinyl%20Spectrum%20Analyzer Thanks fellas ! v1.0 is simply a prototype for now, but depending on interest, I'd love to develop a newer version. V2 would be smaller and cleaner through the use of smaller, less expensive parts and a professional board-fabrication company for the layout. This project kinda started from some free time I had between semesters from parts I kinda had laying around. With this o'l guy, I want to make a DIY article at some point for v1.1 (same thing, but without all of the lovely errors I ran into in my design, heheh) Of course being simply a hobby, all of this is dependent upon school, but all in due time. Thanks again fellas, and any more questions/comments feel free to ask. I'll answer when I can! /)
